ACTING
CHAIR: MADELINE BOZZELLI
Madeline Bozzelli was appointed the Acting Chair of the Summit
County Democratic Party on Thursday, January 10, 2008, due to the
retirement of former Chair and County Executive Russ Pry.
FIRST VICE CHAIR: MADELINE BOZZELLI
Longtime Democratic activist Madeline Bozzelli has served as First
Vice Chair of the Party for over two decades. Her political
experience includes twenty-six years at the Summit County Board of
Elections. Madeline is known throughout the county for her
passionate long-term involvement with many civic and humanitarian
organizations. Her fundraising prowess is legendary. She is
Akron’s party planner extraordinaire.
SECOND VICE CHAIR: TAMELA MULAIKI
Tamela
Mulaiki is serving her first term on the Executive Committee. She
is deeply committed to increasing campaign participation by voters
and improving Election Day turnout. Last year she served as the
Summit County African-American Coordinator for the Turnaround Ohio
campaigns of Ted Strickland and Sherrod Brown. As a tireless
worker on local, state, and national campaigns, she knows that
success depends on teamwork.
TREASURER: TIM GORBACH
During
his four terms as Treasurer, Tim has performed his duties with the
precision and accuracy that are critical to the smooth operation
of the Party. His attention to detail, adherence to the highest
ethical and professional standards, tenacity, insightfulness, and
problem solving skills set him apart from the crowd. In addition
to this position, he is also an At-Large Councilman for the City
of Cuyahoga Falls. Tim also serves on the Summit County
Board of Elections.
SECRETARY: SHARON ROBINSON
Democratic Board of Elections Booth Clerk Sharon Robinson has been
Secretary of the Party for nearly a decade. She has been
instrumental in recruiting Precinct Committee Members throughout
Summit County. Using her interpersonal skills, diplomacy, can-do
attitude, persuasiveness, nurturing spirit, and sensitivity she
uncovers untapped potential and facilitates improvement. She
coaches, encourages, appreciates, and supports others.
Appointed Positions
FINANCE COMMITTEE CHAIR: WAYNE JONES
Former
State Representative Wayne Jones has served as Finance Committee
Chair for the past eight years. His success for the Party is due,
in large part, to utilizing “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective
People.” He is proactive; begins with an end in mind; puts first
things first; thinks win; seeks first to understand, then to be
understood; provides synergy; and seeks continuous improvement.
His fund-raising efforts significantly impacted the outcome of the
November 2006 election and his continued hard work will insure our
arrival in the winner’s circle in November 2008. Wayne is
currently Chair of the Summit County Board of Elections and has
served on the Party’s Executive Committee since 1990.
